The Barnes Primary table tennis team has done incredibly well over the last months. Having qualified for the London Schools’ Championships finals before Christmas, they are now gearing up for the big game next weekend. What does the team do to train for the the upcoming event? Ed tells us.
We always try to play whenever we have free time, to get in as much practice as possible. This sometimes means using lunch and break hours at school. To become a winning table tennis player it is also great to have a good friend who can train with you and is as serious as you are.
The people in the Barnes table tennis team is Trishton, Nathan, Oliver, Cameron, and myself – Ed. I practice as much as possible and the days I mainly play on are Monday, Friday and at the weekends.
The London finals, that will be played at the University of East London, Trishton and I will be playing against people in division 3. Even being in Division 5 was going to be a tough match, and it will be that much harder. The whole team will play two games against each of the other teams and whoever wins will get a point. Because the matches will be won as best out of 5, I expect we will come home very tired.
