Four Newsnugget reporters got the chance to take some sport photos together with professional photographer Simon Bevan. Below are a few of Cassia’s, Fraser’s Hamish’s and James’ shots on a Tuesday morning at Barnes Primary. Surprisingly, getting the right frames turned out to be physically challenging at times. And there were a few snaps of blurry feet.
More photos credited by the group can be find in the other blog posts.

After the photo session, the whole Newsnugget group got a chance to ask Simon some questions. They learnt that working as a photographer is a bit like being a hunter: you have to find just the right (sometimes uncomfortable!) position where you think something exciting is going to happen. Then you stay there, and you wait and wait until the right moment comes to press the trigger. They also heard that Simon only picks 1 in about 20 photos to send on to the publisher, who out of maybe 50 such good shots only selects one for printing.
