There was a shock in the UEFA semi finals at the Santiago Bernabeu on the 13th of May. The score was 1-1 on the night, but in aggregate it was 3-2 to Juventus against Real Madrid.
The second leg is what I’m writing about. 30 seconds into the match and Bale had a chance…but missed. 4 1/2 minutes later, Benzema had a shot but it went flying the wrong way. In the 23rd minute, Ronaldo was tripped just outside the box but James Rodrigues played advantage and charged into the box – but gets fouled-penalty!
Ronaldo was to take it (obviously!) and sends Bufron the wrong way and curls it to the right and it swerved into the middle of the net. Half time and Real Madrid were in the lead on away-goals. Alvaro Morata stunns former club with an equalizer in the second half to take it to 3-2 to Juventus on aggregate.
What a match! Juventus won the ticket to Berlin, but now we know that they did not reach the whole way to the cup, as they lost against Barcelona.
