A new “murram*” road has been laid for the first time from Kivu to Kibeho. The people are very happy because transport is now cheaper than a year ago when the road was very dry and bumpy due to dry weather conditions. Last year the only transport was motorcycles but now there is a taxi. This road is very exciting because it connects our village to the big town of Kibeho and beyond.
* murram is an East African term for laterite soil (a kind of gravel) that is used to build dirt roads.
