From gaming, texting, to selfies, technology has been a big trend – but are we using it for too long every day?
Blue Light
Exposure to blue light comes from a variety of technologies including computers, smartphones, televisions, and normal lights. Studies have found that blue wavelengths suppress delta brainwaves, which induce sleep, and boost alpha wavelengths, which create alertness. A double whammy. That alertness will keep you awake, making you feel sleepy in the morning and causes less concentration at school.
Alternatives
There are are always different hobbies to try instead of having your eyes staying fixed on screens all day. You could try a new sport that is fit for you. Or be creative and do some arts and craft. You could recycle old things in your house for something no one would of constructed but you! Or perhaps you could spent some time with your family by playing board games or even watching a movie together.
So you can see that there are infinite varieties of things to do instead of technology. However, it doesn’t mean you can’t use your phone ever again. It’s just a piece of advice saying: It’s good to stop using devices at least 1 hour before you sleep. It is also to say that you will miss a lot of interesting surprises around you in life if you stay on screens.
