For quite a while we have been hearing that plastic is contaminating the oceans. Much of this plastic comes from all the packaging we are used to have our groceries wrapped up in. Due to this, some supermarkets have decided to replace their plastic containers with cardboard boxes.
The world’s first plastic-free aisle was launched in Amsterdam on the 27 February 2018 by an environmental campaign group “A Plastic Planet” and Dutch supermarket Ekoplaza. The aisle enables shoppers to choose from 700 everyday products that are free from plastic wrapping and containers.
Do you think that every supermarket should take a page from Ekoplaza’s book?
