You add it to your breakfast cereal; you bake it into pastries, cakes, and cookies. You even sprinkle it all over your oatmeal for added sweetness. And it is not good for you.
But that’s not all. This dangerous powder is also hidden in some beloved treats that people consume on a daily basis, such as sodas, fruit juices, candies, and ice cream. It also lurks in almost all processed foods, including breads, meats, and even your favorite condiments like mayo and ketchup.
Maybe you have guessed already: we are talking about none other than sugar. Most people find sugary foods tasty, satisfying, and irresistible.
Sugar, many doctors and scientists are saying, is one of the most damaging substances if you have too much of it. Obesity due to too much sugar is becoming a huge health problem in the world. And what makes it so hard to combat is that it is just so abundant in our everyday diet.
Scientist say this because of the amounts of extra sugar that has been added into food to makes it taste better. Scientists also say this is due to the amount of fast food people eat (that often has more added sugar than home cooked food). Most people are blaming it on the choices that children make, for example kids used to get juice but know they go for fizzy drinks. People also make these choices to have a meal quickly. Well, there are other choices that you could make if you want to have a snack or meal quickly, bring a fruit from home, or make a simple pasta.
