A home-made time-bomb was placed on a train at the tube station ‘Parsons Green’. Many people were injured but nobody died. Shortly after the attack, suspects were caught by the police.
When the bomb set off in the early morning traffic, it did not go off properly so not as many people were injured as could have been the case, and thankfully nobody died. Everyone panicked when the bomb exploded and started running to evacuate. Because of this, more people got injured than if everybody had stayed calm. A terrorism expert says that the bomb definitely did not explode the way the terrorists had planned.
An eyewitness said “I heard everybody screaming and trying to evacuate the train. I was expecting someone to be waving around a machete”. It has been said that the suspect Ahmed Hassan bought bomb-making ingredients from Amazon. At the time this article was written, 7 people have been arrested and are considered the culprits of the attack. The security level in London was officially raised to “critical” after the attack, but has since been lowered to “severe”.
