This year, there has been a devastating amount of destruction because of the wildfires in America.
Due to the blazes, more than 250,000 residents have been forced to leave their homes to the mercy of the flames. Luckily, rain has arrived in California helping to contain the fires. Yet this luck has a flaw – it is bringing fear of mudslides around the area. This is there is no vegetation to hold the ground from sliding. This has a chance of getting in the way of the firefighters and the recovery of the citizens of California.
It is thought that there will be a staggering 4 to 6 inches of rain across the state. Firefighters say it will help enormously in the clear up of the fires. It could mean they can stop the fires entirely. This will be good for the residents that haven’t been damaged too much because of the flames for it will clear the air of all the smoke and ash.
Unfortunately for the clear up in the desolate town of Paradise, the ash that had settled on the destruction could bury the remains of the people that have died so they are unable to be found.
At the moment, there are around 500 people who are unaccounted for. It is a race against time to find the bodies. If the ash solidifies, the people may never be found ever again.
