You don’t have to love cats to know that they’re enjoying a big surge in popularity, and much of that is from an increased media exposure. For many, this is a positive trend because it puts cats “on the front page” of many social media sites.
A few special kitties have become financially lucrative for their owners. Although cats have rightfully earned the status of internet stars, their rise to fame has upsides and downsides. Cat videos can seem cute or funny, but they could also be cruel. Last year a three year old cat broke its spine and fractured its leg; this happened during a cat video.
