Much of western Africa, such as Ethiopia, parts of Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, are the hardest hit regions by climate change, standing to lose more than 40% of their richness of plants.
Species at risk include: trees, shrubs, herbs and vines. This would have an incredibly large impact on wildlife in Congo with deforestation, population growth and climate change combining to create to life threatening disaster if people don’t realise the damage being done, making an interdependent food chain collapse. This is because some animals that feed off trees and fungi can die from diseases killing the insect, maggot or other creature.
One of the most hidden causes of this tragedy is climate change.
Not wanting to go on a tangent, I encourage you to support and do everything you can to help lower your carbon footprint to help save our planet. I myself am supporting Greta Thunberg in her inspiring way of making a difference. This Christmas I received a touching book on Greta Thunberg saying,“no one is too small to make a difference.”
