You always hear a lot about football, rugby and perhaps swimming. But there is so much more going on in schools around the country, and certainly here at Barnes Primary School. Below, you find a list of all the different sports that we do.
Some people just join a club to get some exercise, but some are much more serious about their sport and enter competitions too. A few things on the list don’t sound like sport, but I guess they are, in a sense!
The big team sports
- Football (including Girls’ football)
- Tag Rugby
- Basketball
- Hockey (sometimes!)
- Cricket
- Ball Skills
- Bench Ball
- Netball
Big individual sports
(although we also have teams, in table tennis for example)
- Swimming
- Cross Country Running
- Indoor Athletics
- Tennis (including Tennis for girls)
- Table Tennis
- Cycling (including “Tour de Barnes”)
More unusual sports and exercise
- Street dance
- Judo
- Karate
- Yoga (including Yoga for athletes)
- Fitness Club
- Play Maker Award (Fit for Sport)
- Chess
Some sports are more popular than others, like football, cross country running, swimming, and table tennis. Thank you for reading my list! Have I forgotten anything?
