Donald Trump (President-Elect in the USA) has tweeted that he would like the UKIP leader, Nigel Farage, to be the British ambassador to the US. The question is why?
Is this strange? Donald Trump – a business man – has become the president-elect of the United States and is now thinking of Nigel Farage to become the ambassador with no experience in such a job. Donald Trump has stated on Twitter that Nigel Farage would do a great job as an ambassador and that many people want this to happen. Mr. Farage supported Donald Trump all through out his campaign and was actually the first British politician to meet Trump after the election.
The UKIP leader was said to be flattered and called the tweet ‘a bolt from the blue.’ Downing Street replied sourly, saying. “There is no vacancy for another ambassador , we already have an excellent one.” And with that Nigel Farage could start playing the power game with Downing Street. Farage said he did not expect the tweet from Trump, but means it was a sign that Downing Street needs to change.
Donald Trump has a Gulf Course in Scotland and has said the wind turbines are ‘spoiling’ the view of his Gulf Course. A wind turbine produces green electricity. With a man like Nigel Farage, who seems to be on the side of Donald Trump, who knows what could happen if Farage supports Trump on major issues? What implications will this have on green energy in the UK if Nigel Farage becomes the ambassador? Only time will tell. Not very likely, but Trump is a powerful man.
