The terrible attack took place in Westminster, just by the Parliament, at 2:42 on the 22nd of March. Fortunately, there was only one terrorist involved so it was easier for the NHS and the police to focus on helping the injured people. But they could only save so many.
Unfortunately, they were not able to save five of the people that came in the terrorist's path. Three died from being run over on Westminster Bridge, and one died from being stabbed. The fifth man was the terrorist himself, Khalid Masood, who was shoot by the police who had warned him before shooting. They said "put away your weapon or we will shoot you".
Masood then went on to try to kill another person, instead of surrendering, so they shot him. People are wondering if they had to shoot and kill him or whether they could have just shot him in the leg, injuring instead of killing him.
The hospital managed to save 20 or more attacked people. But rescuing 20+ seriously injured is an amazing achievement for the hospitals nearby. The police did all they could to stop the attack from happening, some helping to close off the area as soon as it started. One member of the police was stabbed by Khalid Masood and sadly died. There are different views of why this happened but some people think it is because it is the anniversary of another attack in Brussels.
